The University of Calgary Ballroom Dance Club is a non-profit organization,
run by elected officials, who rely on a large contingent of volunteers to
assist in different ways, one of which is by serving on a committee. The
Club currently has four standing committees and one ad hoc committee whose
volunteer members spend many hours working for the good of all members.
Following is a brief description of the various committees and their
responsibilities and a list of the volunteers who deserve your recognition:
Constitution Committee
The Constitution Committee is a standing committee, responsible for reviewing
and recommending changes to the constitution. They submit changes to the
Executive, and once accepted, they are posted where members can review the
change. The changes are then voted on by the membership at a General Meeting.
This committee is independent from the Executive, but an Executive liaison
must be on the committee. Committee members are:

Elections Committee
The Elections Committee is a standing committee, responsible for organizing
and monitoring all Club elections. Once an election is called, the committee
receives nominations which are then submitted to the Executive Board for
approval. The committee arranges and monitors campaigning after nominations
close, and then facilitates voting week. When the polls close, the committee
counts the ballots and submits the results to the Board. This committee is
independent from the Executive, and does not have an Executive on the
committee, but an Executive liaison will be appointed for communication
purposes. Committee members are:

Audit Committee
The Audit Committee is a standing committee, responsible for reviewing and
then commenting on the Annual Financial Statements at the AGM. The committee
has no executive members, and is independent from the Executive. The Treasurer
is the principal point of contact for communication purposes. Committee

Music Committee
The Music Committee is a standing committee, responsible for making
suggestions to the Executive to ensure the musical inventory is current
and for the maintenance or replacement of audio equipment. This committee
may engage in various fund raising activities. The committee includes a
representative from the Executive, and is directed by the Executive.

Website Committee
The Website Committee is an ad hoc committee, responsible for designing and
updating the website, and for ensuring website content is suitable and
current. This committee is also responsible for the implementation and
maintenance of the online registration system, and for providing membership
and financial data to the Club Treasurer. This committee must include an
Executive member. The committee members are
