Registration

Unlike other dance venues, the University of Calgary Ballroom Dance Club has a free trial for all of our 10 week classes. You can attend as many classes as you like in the first week of each session, find which class or classes suit you, and then register for the classes of your choice at the start of the second week of the session.

To register, you can print out and mail in our registration form (once it is on-line), with a cheque or money order, or you can also register in person at the class of your choice.

We're also hoping to have on-line registration (with PayPal) set up later in the year. Check back here later for more information!

Cost

The class costs for the 2010-11 year are shown below. To obtain the discount, you must register in one class, for two or three 10 week sessions. (eg. Country One, for 20 or 30 weeks).

Class Imbalances

Our classes are open to couples and to singles. We find that it is difficult to have the same number of men and women in each class, therefore our Instructors frequently rotate partners, so that everyone gets a chance to dance. We also encourage our teaching assistants to attend as volunteers to help balance class numbers when this is needed. We do not ask members of other classes to stay and help.

Make-up Classes

We are sorry, but if you miss a class you cannot attend a different class to make-up the lesson. We suggest you go early to the next class and ask a Teaching Assistant to show you the moves you have missed.
